Warning: No DNS Server Installed

The source computer was running the Domain Name System (DNS) server. The destination computer does not have DNS installed.

Active Directory requires DNS in order to locate domain controllers.

This warning only occurs on Windows Server 2000 or 2003. UMove will automatically add the DNS role (if needed) on Windows Server 2008.

How to Fix This Error

You need to install DNS on the destination computer. Insert the Windows Server CD/DVD. Click on Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs. Click the button Add/Remove Windows Components. Select Networking Services -> Domain Name System (DNS), and click OK. Have your Windows CD ready.

After installing DNS you should re-apply any service packs. This is needed to ensure that DNS has the latest bug fixes from Microsoft.
