IPV6 extends Internet Addresses from 32 bits to 128 bits. It is most commonly used in countries with limited ARIN address space (such as Brazil and China). An IPV4 address looks like this: Windows Server 2008: IPV6 is always installed on Windows Server 2008. How to Fix This Error (Windows Server 2003)Install IPV6 on the destination computer. Insert the Windows Server 2003 CD/DVD. Open a command prompt and type the following:
netsh
After installing IPV6 you should re-apply any service packs. This is needed to ensure that IPV6 has the latest bug fixes from Microsoft. You can safely override this error if you know that you are using only 32-bit (IPV4) addresses for all Active Directory network operations. |
